It is free and there is no obligation to build with EM2 afterwards. You leave with the mockup and the estimate whether you hire us or not. It works for us because a session tells us in half an hour whether a project is a fit, which is faster and more honest than a sales process.

Do I need to know what I want, or prepare anything before a session?

No. Bring whatever you have — a sketch, a spreadsheet, a competitor's site you like, or just the problem you are trying to solve. “I'm not sure” is a valid answer at every step. The session exists to turn a vague idea into something concrete, so arriving with a vague idea is normal.
